The Fullerton Arboretum is dedicated to providing educational opportunities to people of all ages. Our classes offer you a chance to learn about the plants, nature, history, health, culture and sustainability.

Some of the ongoing programs we offer are listed below, but check the class registration listing for the full list of all upcoming programs and to register.

Tuesday Evenings in the Garden
 
  • Bring the family to Tuesday Evenings in the Garden at the Fullerton Arboretum. This summer we have events for the whole family. All ages are welcome!

Thursday Nights in the Kitchen
 
  • To kick off this new culinary program, we will bring back two of our favorite chefs, Jonathan Duffy Davis and Jonathan Dye. Join “the Jonathans” as they prepare seasonal recipes which utilize local produce, and items grown right at the Arboretum.
   
Botanical Art Classes
 
  •  Tania Marien, Interdesciplinary Studies Master's degree in Biology & Student Learning, teaches this botanical art series.
   
Writing and Poetry Class
 
  •  What is in us that is buried and waiting to come to life? How do we begin to express it? This series of workshops invites us to attend to our voices, to investigate contributions inside and around us, and to nourish the writer within.
Aveda Classes
 
  • The busy holiday season is fast-approaching. Learn how you can manage day-to-day stress with Aveda therapy.
Composting Classes
 
  • Learn how to make your own compost! If you live in the city of Fullerton, Brea, Placentia, Orange or Santa Ana, this class is free! Fall 2014 dates have been posted. If you live in one of the supporting cities mentioned above, call 657.278.3407 to register. Residents of other cities are welcome, as well. Cost is $7 for non-members and $5 for members.
   
Eat the Yard
 
  •  The Eat The Yard Class Series will guide you through the process of setting up and maintaining an edible landscape in your own backyard.
   
Pruning
 
  • Learn to prune native, drought tolerant plants and ornamental and fruit trees.
   
Yoga in the Garden
 
  • Every Saturday Morning at 9:00 AM and every third Wednesday of the month at 6:00 PM with Kim Mason, meet at the Nature Center.
   
Nature Photography
 
  •  Take a better picture with Steve Kaye.
   
Bug Safaris
 
  •  Kids and parents can go on safari!

Education Manager, Miguel Macias, finds himself on the front page of the Daily Titan!

CSUF journalist, Amber Uddin, wrote a fantastic article on composting classes offered at the arboretum titled, "Turning Trash into Treasure Through Composting."
