The Fullerton Arboretum is dedicated to providing educational opportunities to people of all ages. Our classes offer you a chance to learn about the plants, nature, history, health, culture and sustainability.

Some of the ongoing programs we offer are listed below, but check the class registration listing for the full list of all upcoming programs and to register.

Tuesday Evenings in the Garden
 
  • Bring the family to Tuesday Evenings in the Garden at the Fullerton Arboretum. This summer we have events for the whole family. All ages are welcome!

  • Meet the Wolves Ambassadors
   
Culinary
 
  • Chef Laurent Brazier from La Cuisine is back. Come attend his Food & Wine Pairing classes as he will demonstrate how to prepare a full course meal while you enjoy the wine and food at your table.
   
Writing and Poetry
 
  • Come celebrate National Poetry Month and Earh Week in the Fullerton Arboretum! We will observe and experience the Arboretum, read eclectic and electrifying poems, and write about our sensory and depth perceptions.
   
Composting Classes
 
  • Learn how to make your own compost! If you live in the city of Fullerton, Brea, Placentia, Orange or Santa Ana, this class is free! Spring 2016 dates have been posted. If you live in one of the supporting cities mentioned above, call 657.278.3407 to register. Residents of other cities are welcome, as well. Cost is $7 for non-members and $5 for members.
   
Beekeeping
 
  • Learn the basics of hobby beekeeping to get started, and helpful resources.
   
Yoga in the Garden
 
  • Meet our new instructors, Cosette Deza and Sarah Starr, who will be teaching yoga every Tuesday at 6:30pm and every Saturday at 9:30am throughout the majestic garden. Meet at the Nature Center.
   
Nature Photography
 
  • Learn how to use space, light, and time to take more memorable photos. Steve Kaye will show you step-by-step sequences that illustrate practical approaches to effective photos.
   
Local History Classes
 
  • Learn from ancient people of Orange County how Disneyland came to Orange County
   
Preserving Classes
 
  • Come and master one of the oldest technologies used by human beings, food preservation.

CSUF journalist, Amber Uddin, wrote a fantastic article on composting classes offered at the arboretum titled, "Turning Trash into Treasure Through Composting."
